New Canadian study helping Family Physicians and NPs address COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy among their patients

PHAC is funding an innovative study led by a team of physicians, researchers and communications specialists from the University of Ottawa, Montfort Hospital and the Eastern Ontario Health Unit.

This timely study looks at how digital messages about the COVID-19 vaccine can be tailored to meet patient information needs and improve vaccine uptake. The study uses an automated patient outreach and data collection system that enables family physicians/NPs to communicate with their patients via email or text messages. Using evidence-based communications strategies, the study team is developing tailored messages in response to patient feedback on reasons for hesitating and sociodemographic factors. Impact on vaccine uptake will be measured over time.

We’re seeking family physicians and NPs to participate in this study. For more information, please contact our team at info at info@cpin-rcip.com or at 613-746-4621 ext. 6420.
